Assignment 1: Trend Board

In this assignment, we were asked to create a trend board that includes inspiration pictures, color pallette, and current trend with an implied target audience all with aesthetic appeal. Our research was conducted through the Stylesight website; my trend was crochet/macrame swimsuits for the Spring/Summer of 2014. I brought in late 60's and early 70's inspirations and earthy tones with one pop of color to stick with the groovy vibe. This trend board has been displayed at FGI Dallas Career Day and at the Tulsa Hardestry Arts Center.

Assignment 2:
Personal Branding Package

For this assignment we had to think a lot about ourselves and how we wanted to be silently represented to future employers. To begin we created an inspiration board that was filled with images that we thought represented our personalities to give us a visual aid when creating our Personal Brand. We had to think about color psychology; the colors I decided on were blue and orange because I am outgoing and friendly like orange but I calmed it down with the blue so that it represented my quiet, and serious side. I chose the painted effect to bring in the elements from my inspiration board and the circle around my H to represent the circle of the yin-yang sign in the board, while also representing my well-rounded personality and expertise. The package includes a business card design front and back, signature print, letterhead and our logo. You will see all of this in the following slides.

Assignment 3:
Magazine Publication

To be honest this was my favorite assignment we were required to do. We were asked to create a magazine that makes the audience eyes "travel" throughout the publication; pick a destination and create a story. I chose Rio de Janeiro because it is on my list of places to travel and I enjoy their brightly colored style as well. The name I chose for my magazine is H Vision and as you can tell I used my logo created in my previous work. I liked the name because it is consistent with my personal brand and I wanted to bring my audiences "vision" of a destination to life through my magazine. As you click through the slideshow you will see advertisements that I created in photoshop for Adidas and Delta Skylines. The backpage uses my publications tagline "Where will we take you next?" and with a beautiful faded picture of Spain in the background. This was an idea to create mystery for the next magazine volume by showing a not-so-obvious photograph of the next destination featured.
